Today we learned how to write informational essays. Honestly, this is my least favorite type of essay to write but Mr. Rease made it easier. The prompt was about student loan debt.

Today we read the poem “I, Too”. It opened my eyes to discrimination in America and how some people have to fight to be included as an American citizen. The lines “They’ll see how beautiful I am, And be ashamed” really resonated with me.

Today we read the poem Mother to Son by Langston Hughes. I learned that life isn’t easy but you shouldn’t give up even when it seems hard. There are many obstacles that we are bound to encounter, but we have to overcome them.
