Big Surprise in Fences

Today we read Fences and the class received two BIG plot twists. For one, Troy told Rose that he was going to be the father of his and Alberta's child. Rose was so stunned and hurt and I was hurting right with her. Also, when Alberta gave birth, she died. It was very unexpected and the class went crazy when they read this part.

National Hispanic Heritage Month

Yesterday we read Fences and talked about National Hispanic Heritage Month. It was really nice to learn about other cultures. Honestly, yesterday was a rough day, so I didn't pay attention that much during the Fences reading. I will make sure to catch up today!

Make up for yesterday: Fences

Yesterday we read the play "Fences". I learned a lot of lessons from the story. Some of these lessons include not depending on others all the time, the truth will come out eventually, and friendships/relationships are generally more valued than morals.

Pop Quiz Day

Today we had a pop quiz. Due to my absences from the past week, I was unable to take the quiz, but I learned a lot from the review. I gained the knowledge of how to properly answer multiple choice questions by eliminating the two wrong choices.

Assessment day

Today we took a test based on the Emily Dickinson poems. To be honest, the assessment was quite challenging and really motivated me to go deeper in thought. Our task was to analyze the poems and answer questions about them. It seems easy, but it it can be difficult at times to find the underlying meaning of a text..
